The purpose of International Project Management is to ensure that a project meets its goals and objectives by planning, directing, tracking, controlling, and improving the necessary activities for the development and delivery of products and services. The IPMC™ Project Management Methodology involves creating and maintaining detailed plans throughout the project life cycle. This includes establishing and updating estimates related to cost, schedule, work product size, and critical technical parameters. Commitments to the project’s objectives and plans are upheld throughout the duration of the project. Participants and stakeholders are identified and organized to achieve project goals. During execution, the project’s progress and performance are monitored and tracked according to the plan, with corrective actions taken as needed to ensure objectives are met. Continuous improvement is promoted at all levels, with international considerations often influencing the procedures and decisions made.
Students interested in further academic study may transfer courses completed with a grade of “B” or better for the certificate directly toward degree requirements for the American University of Florida’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) or, depending on background and qualifications, the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA).
Successful graduates will be prepared to move forward in a wide variety of project management-related careers, and will have gained excellent preparation for the CIPM ™ (Certified Project Management Examination offered through the AAPM Global Board of Standard and the International Project Management Commission.
