The policy of the American University of Florida mandates that every undergraduate and graduate course includes the following components: (a) three article reviews, each involving research, analysis, and narrative writing; (b) three periodic exams, primarily in essay format; (c) two major projects; (d) active participation between students and instructors; and (e) a comprehensive final examination.

FINAL EXAMINATION SPECIFICS

  • The final examination will constitute 25-30% of the final course grade.
  • No course grade will be calculated until the final examination grade is recorded.
  • The examination is not accessible until the student has completed all other course requirements and is approved to sit for the examination in the presence of an approved proctor.
  • Once approved, the proctor will request the password from the Vice President.
  • The examination may only be accessed once, in line with the procedures outlined above.
  • Note: There is no provision for retaking the final examination. Students are therefore strongly encouraged to prepare thoroughly for this comprehensive exam.
