In addition to meeting all entrance requirements, every international student (educated outside the United States) must provide proof of college-level proficiency in English if their native language is not English. For transcripts that require equivalency evaluation (to be determined by your admissions representative), service organizations approved by NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) are acceptable (www.naces.org).

All transcripts must be provided in English. Transcripts not in English must be translated into English and evaluated by a qualified third party or a trained transcript evaluator fluent in the original language. An English translation of the evaluation must also be included.

*** DEFINITION OF OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS

The American University of Florida requires all students to submit official transcripts or records (as defined above) for inclusion in their permanent files. Admission is provisional for 90 days until these official documents are received and on file with the University.

Option 1

Official transcripts (mark or grade sheets) or diplomas must be sent directly from the secondary school or university to the American University of Florida. Documents submitted by the student are not considered official or acceptable. If an original document is unavailable, a school official may stamp, sign, and validate a clear copy and send it directly to the American University of Florida.

Option 2

Students may have their degree, diploma, or transcript attested (notarized) by the relevant authorities in their country to verify the documents, and then send these attested documents directly to the American University of Florida. Attestation can be done by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or AMIDEAST.

Option 3

If the official documents mentioned above are unavailable, the student may request that the diploma- or degree-issuing institution (secondary school or university) send a confirmation letter on official letterhead, with a stamp and signature. The letter must include the student’s full name, years of attendance, date of diploma or degree conferral (and the field, if applicable), and the student’s standing at the time of issuance. This letter must be mailed directly to the American University of Florida by the issuing institution.

Official documents must be sent to the address below:

NOTIFICATION AND COMPLETION OF ENROLLMENT

All applicants who wish to become official students must complete and sign an Enrollment Agreement. This document outlines both academic conditions and financial obligations. Several payment options are available, and students who choose to pay over time must also complete a Payment Agreement and/or Credit Card Authorization form. Once submitted, these documents become official appendices to the Enrollment Agreement. Note: Additional documentation may be required in special circumstances.
The Department of Admissions is available to assist with completing these forms and to address any questions about program details or financial options.
