The American University of Florida’s Online Graduate Certificate in MPM ™ (Master Project Management) is a premier graduate Master’s certification program. The designation (MPM, Master Project Manager) is designed for, and available to, college educated professionals who manage teams, departments, divisions and for senior project managers and project directors who seek formal recognition. The MPM designation is the Gold Standard within the international arena of Project Management.

The Master Project Management program aims to ensure that projects achieve their goals and objectives by effectively planning, directing, tracking, controlling, and improving the activities necessary for developing and delivering products and services. The IPMC™ Project Management Methodology involves creating and maintaining comprehensive plans throughout the project life cycle. It includes establishing and updating estimates related to cost, schedule, work product size, and key technical parameters. Commitments to project objectives and plans are sustained throughout the project’s duration. Project participants and stakeholders are identified and organized to achieve these objectives. During execution, project progress and performance are monitored and tracked according to the plan, with corrective actions implemented as needed to ensure the project meets its goals. Continuous improvement is promoted at all levels.

  • Projects are initiated, managed, and executed to deliver products and services that meet customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Planning parameters are estimated and maintained to support resource allocation.
  • Commitments related to the project are established and upheld.
  • Project progress is assessed against the established plans.
  • Corrective actions are implemented when necessary and managed to resolution.

Successful graduates will be well-prepared for diverse careers in project management and will have excellent preparation for the MPM™ Master Project Manager – Project Management certification through the AAPM Global Board of Standards.

Students interested in furthering their studies may transfer courses completed with a grade of “B” or better towards degree requirements for the American University of Florida’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program or, depending on their background and qualifications, the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program.
