Ebrary Library

Today’s adult learners often combine education with ongoing employment and family responsibilities. They need reliable, high-quality learning resources that are convenient—available anytime, from anywhere. The solution?

A Virtual Library

Bibliographic Instruction: Librarians teach students how to effectively utilize library resources.

Research Assistance: Librarians assist students in getting started on course assignments by guiding their research strategies.

Core Collection of Books: A curated collection of books supports the school’s curriculum and faculty research needs.

Research Databases: A wide range of general and specialized databases provides abstracts and full-text access to journal and magazine articles.

Reference Assistance: Librarians help answer general student inquiries and direct them to the most relevant resources for their topics.

General Reference: This includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, maps, and other essential reference works.

Online Tutorials (Bibliographic Instruction): E-global library offers online tutorials to guide students in using not only its own resources but also the broader information landscape. Tutorials cover topics like library usage, internet research, business research online, and writing research papers with an emphasis on proper use of internet-based resources. Available 24/7, these tutorials can be accessed from any location with internet connectivity, providing a flexible learning tool compared to traditional on-campus academic librarians.

Program Resources (Research Assistance): Over 125 topic-specific research guides introduce students to various subjects, explain research strategies, and suggest alternative search terms and Library of Congress subject headings. Unlike traditional on-campus libraries, where students may focus on books and print journals, the e-global library encourages exploration of a wider array of information sources, including association materials, online journals, government documents, research institute reports, and internet-based resources. The aim is to not only provide the best resources for class assignments but also to broaden students’ understanding and mastery of the vast information available to them.

Online Books (Core Collection of Books): While books may be less critical in fast-evolving fields, they remain invaluable for certain types of information. E-global library offers a collection of over 21,000 online books, with more added monthly. These online books allow students to highlight, annotate, and comment just as they would in print, with the added convenience of accessibility anytime, anywhere. This collection is always available, with no worries about library hours, due dates, or book availability.

General Reference (General Reference): For needs like dictionaries, almanacs, encyclopedias, or biographies, e-global library has compiled over 125 sources, organized into 15 categories, to help students locate nearly anything they would find in a traditional library’s reference section.

Special Collections: This includes resources on government documents, financial aid, career development, and life and leisure. The Government Resources collection links to over 325 government sites, providing access to more than 150,000 full-text documents, including laws, regulations, statistics, technical reports, and consumer guides.
