Orientation
All new students receive a Welcome Letter from Orientation Services, which provides essential information on accessing the secure section of the Learn Center. Here, students can:
a) Watch the Orientation Video, available anytime; and,
b) Read the Student Handbook.
Both the video and handbook are crucial for guiding students as they begin their online or distance learning journey. These resources offer insights into AUF’s unique learning platform, covering everything from accessing assignments and submitting them to ordering books and navigating the library. We strongly encourage students to regularly view the video, read the handbook, and refer to the FAQs as they progress through their studies.
A second Welcome Letter serves as a reminder to submit necessary forms and documents, an invitation to follow AUF on Facebook and Twitter, and information about the requirements for obtaining a student ID card. Additionally, each student is assigned a subject specialist who will offer support throughout their studies.
Student ID Card
Officially enrolled students are eligible to receive a Student ID Card. The cost is $25, with an optional laminated photo available for an additional $4.95, and shipping is free worldwide. To request an ID card, students must submit an ID Request Form, including their full name and student identification number, to the American University of Florida in order to obtain a Student Status Letter.
In collaboration with ISEC, our ID cards come with a variety of discounts and privileges, such as special travel fares and medical assistance (full details can be found in the secure Learn Center). Additionally, the ID card is required to access Study Center privileges and attend social networking events at various AUF locations around the world. Depending on institutional policies, the card may also provide library access and discounts at colleges and universities within the student’s local area.
